Police Release Video of Person of Interest in UnitedHealthcare CEO’s Murder
San Francisco authorities have released surveillance footage showing a person of interest in the fatal shooting of Dr. Martin Neil Baily, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, who was found dead in his upscale San Francisco neighborhood on February 23.
The camera captures the suspect, a man believed to be around 6 feet tall, wearing a black hoodie, jeans, and a red baseball cap. He was seen walking quickly down the street in the direction of the murder scene around 10:45 pm.
The 54-year-old Baily, a highly respected health insurance executive, was shot multiple times outside his home on the 1400 block of Laguna Honda Boulevard. Police discovered his body shortly after 11:30 pm when a passerby reported a noise in the area.
The suspect’s identity and motive behind the killing are still unknown. Authorities have not disclosed whether the crime was linked to Baily’s work or personal life.
"We urge anyone who recognizes the individual in the video to come forward with any information they may have," San Francisco Police Chief William Scott said at a press conference.
Police are also reviewing the security footage and canvassing the area for witnesses to help identify the suspect.
Baily had been in the healthcare industry for over two decades, serving as CEO of UnitedHealthcare’s West region since 2015. He was well-respected by colleagues and friends for his expertise and dedication to improving healthcare access.
An investigation into Baily’s murder is ongoing, and authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in bringing the suspect to justice.
