Steve Bannon expressed his support for the growing tensions between himself and Elon Musk on the topic of immigration, calling it a “good” escalation. On his WarRoom podcast, Bannon pushed back against fellow critic Laura Loomer, saying it’s “unfortunate” that things have escalated, but that the “MAGA base” is tough and resilient.
Loomer, who was previously locked out of her X account and had her verification badge stripped, has been a vocal critic of Musk. She accused him of “abuse” against the “MAGA base”, citing his endorsement of a post calling American workers “retarded” and another in which he told critics to “fuck yourself in the face”.
Bannon, who has called for the complete elimination of the H-1B work visa program, disagrees with Musk’s stance on the issue, and believes that it does not align with President Donald Trump’s immigration agenda, including mass deportations. He believes that the MAGA base is “battle-hardened” and resilient, and that they can withstand the insults and attacks from Musk.
Loomer, on the other hand, believes that the insults are a form of “abuse” and that the MAGA base is not used to being attacked in such a way. She hopes to be reinstated on the platform and to be remonetized.
The disagreement between the two is likely to continue, with Bannon showing no signs of backing down or compromising on his stance.
