Pittsburgh Steelers Offense Falls Short in Playoff Loss to Ravens
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense was unable to get going in their playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens, managing only 59 total yards in the first half and trailing 21-0 at halftime. Despite a strong second half from quarterback Russell Wilson, who led consecutive touchdown drives in the third quarter, the Steelers were unable to mount a comeback and fell to the Ravens.
After the game, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin acknowledged that the team’s offense was not good enough, saying “We just weren’t good enough, to be quite honest with you.” Wilson, who is set to become a free agent this offseason, expressed hope that he would be able to return to the Steelers next season.
The loss marks the third straight year in which the Steelers have failed to surpass the 20-point mark in their postseason game, and the team’s struggles on the offensive side of the ball could lead to significant changes in the coming months.
Steelers safety DeShon Elliott acknowledged that the team has struggled to close out the season strong, citing a five-game losing streak to end the season and a playoff loss. He emphasized the need for the team to figure out what is causing their struggles and how to overcome them in order to become a more consistent playoff contender.
