Stafford’s Future in Limbo After Rams Exit

Los Angeles Rams Quarterback Matthew Stafford’s NFL Career Comes to a Close?

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford played his final game in the NFL on Sunday, losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs, 28-22. Stafford, 36, threw for 324 yards and two touchdown passes, but the Rams were unable to capitalize on several opportunities to tie the game.

Stafford was asked about his future in the NFL after the game, saying he would “take some time to think about it.” Despite turning 37 next month, he believes he has good football left in him.

Rams head coach Sean McVay refused to discuss anything beyond the playoff loss, instead focusing on appreciating the team. Stafford’s performance in the game was solid, completing 26 of 44 passes, but the Rams’ defense was unable to stop the Eagles’ offense.

The veteran quarterback has had a storied career, leading the Rams to a Super Bowl title over the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2021 season. He finished the season with 3,762 passing yards and 20 touchdown passes.

Stafford’s future in the NFL remains uncertain, but his legacy as a two-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion is secure.
