“Squad” member speaks out against Israeli settlement expansion after indigenous people killed for land on Thanksgiving.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, a member of the far-left group “The Squad” in Congress, used Thanksgiving to express solidarity with Indigenous people fighting for freedom on their land. On her Instagram, she posted: “This Thanksgiving, we mourn the Indigenous people killed by European settlers and the United States in order to steal their land. From here to Palestine, we stand in solidarity with all Indigenous people as they fight for freedom on their own land.”

Tlaib, a Muslim Palestinian American, has a history of criticizing Israel and has been heavily critical of the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the Israel-Hamas War in Gaza. She recently referred to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a “genocidal maniac” and has posted anti-Israel content on her social media.

Other liberal figures used Thanksgiving to draw attention to the struggles of Indigenous people, calling for conservatives and Trump supporters to acknowledge the sacrifices made by Native Americans and the fact that many people enjoy traditional Thanksgiving foods because of their labor.
