An Active Shooter Situation at U.S. Army Base Ended in Fatal Shooting
As of Saturday morning, January 21, an apparent active shooter situation unfolded inside the U.S. Military Base Fort Eisenhower in August, Georgia, resulting the loss of one life amid lockdown measures. The soldier, who was shot following a violent incident within Base housing, succumbed fatally.
The Fort stated, in a social and online announcement, “BEING IN DANGER APPLIES ACTION!” followed by an update, after soldiers and families received early warning notifications.
When contacted, the base added that they would provide pertinent details regarding the person assassinated after notifying their kinsfolk. At length, they stated, through an official statement, its concentration lies in offering all available support to the impacted families and assisting anyone significantly influenced by this unfortunate phenomenon.
In addition, with safety and well-being maintaining their highest priority, information concerning the suspect in whose custody has been taken place was given to local and statutory authorities, who are then working on investigating the same.
