Sean Duffy Tapped as Transportation Secretary

Donald Trump’s Nominee to Lead Transportation Department Confirmed by Senate

Former Fox News personality and MTV “Real World” star Sean Duffy has been confirmed by the Senate to lead the Department of Transportation. Duffy, a father of nine, is married to Fox host Rachel Campos-Duffy, whom he met while filming “Road Rules: All Stars” in 1998.

The 53-year-old former Republican Wisconsin congressman received bipartisan support, with the Senate voting unanimously to push his nomination through and eventually voting 77-22 in his favor. Wisconsin Democrat Sen. Tammy Baldwin, who introduced Duffy at his confirmation hearing, praised him as “the right person for this job.”

Duffy replaces Pete Buttigieg as transportation secretary and has been tasked with rebuilding downed bridges, roads, and critical transportation infrastructure damaged by recent storms and wildfires.

The president had praised Duffy for his experience representing the interests of rural residents, as well as his economic and legal expertise. Duffy has experience in Washington, having served five terms in the House before becoming a lobbyist.

Duffy is the second Fox News star to be placed in a Cabinet position, following Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. He is a known “lumberjack” and has won the Lumberjack World Championship three times.
