Seattle’s Rushing Attack to Relieve on Zach Charbonnet for Second Straight Week
The Seattle Seahawks’ rushing attack will hinge on Zach Charbonnet for a second straight week, as running back Kenneth Walker III has been ruled out for the team’s critical prime-time tilt against the Packers due to a calf injury. Walker, who was doubtful after missing all of this week’s practices, is the team’s leading rusher with 542 yards and has also contributed a score through the air with his 38 catches and 271 receiving yards.
Charbonnet, in his second stint as the featured starter, has broken out in his last two games, earning a career-best 91 rushing yards and two touchdowns against the Miami Dolphins, followed by 134 yards and two touchdowns against the Arizona Cardinals. Despite facing an ineffective offensive line, Charbonnet has shown significant improvement and will be relied upon to help lead the Seahawks to a win over the Packers.
The Seahawks, currently third in the NFC West with an 8-5 record, must stay ahead of the Los Angeles Rams, who are hot on their heels with an 8-6 record. A loss to the Packers would put the Seahawks in a tie with the Rams, who they already lost to earlier in the season and must face again in the regular season finale. The Seahawks’ next three games, including Sunday’s 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff against the Packers, will be crucial in determining their position in the division standings and seeding.
