Scottie Scheffler Finds Epic Par Save on 18th Hole at Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Scottie Scheffler, the star golfer, found himself in a precarious position after his opening tee shot on the 18th hole in the second round of the Pebble Beach Pro-Am on Friday. His tee shot landed in the beach, and he had the option to take a penalty drop 40 yards forward from the end of the tee box or walk 300 yards to try and find his ball.
Scheffler decided to take a chance and walk to look for his ball, which he was lucky enough to find. He then had to hit off the beach back onto the course and get it over the cliff. His goal was simply to find some grass, and he was able to do so, leaving him with a shot from 180 yards out.
Scheffler was in between clubs and had to chip a 6-iron into the green, which was a tough shot due to the wind blowing off the left. He was able to get the ball on the green and two-putted from 40 feet to complete the par save.
After the round, Scheffler was tied for 20th at 7-under par, behind leader Sepp Straka at -14. This was Scheffler’s first tournament back since suffering a freak hand injury during Christmas dinner, which required minor surgery. Despite feeling a little rusty, Scheffler is happy to be back in competitive golf and is looking to get back into his groove.
Scheffler’s injury kept him out of action for a while, but he is now back and looking to make a strong comeback. He won seven PGA Tour titles last season, including The Masters for a second time, and also represented the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where he won a gold medal.
