Barkley’s historic season has set the stage for a potential championship

Barkley has certainly done plenty to get the Eagles to this point, compiling a season that flirted with history and finished clear of the 2,000-yard mark. He almost single-handedly won them multiple games, finishing off close contests with breakaway runs and stuffing highlight reels across the nation, solidifying his position as a finalist for the season’s top honor, the Offensive Player of the Year award.

However, for Barkley, there is only one thing that makes it all special: winning a Super Bowl. The only thing that makes it special, whether it’s setting the rushing record during the season or in the playoffs, is winning a Lombardi Trophy. In his eyes, if they don’t get the job done next Sunday, it will all seem insignificant when looking back.

The Eagles likely couldn’t have reached this stage without Barkley’s immense contributions, and now they will need him again to finish off a run he envisioned as soon as he signed with Philadelphia.
