The running back spent his first seven seasons with the Packers before being released in March and signing a one-year, $7 million deal with the Minnesota Vikings, where he has excelled in coach Kevin O’Connell’s scheme.

Currently, Jones is just 29 yards shy of setting a career-best in rushing yards (1,121) after logging a career-high 245 yards over 16 games. Despite only playing a full slate of games twice in his career, he is determined to change his reputation after missing a few games and playing through injuries in the past.

“I’m going to be ready the following Sunday, no matter what,” he said, looking to silence the narrative that he is injury-prone. Re-signing Jones would be beneficial for the Vikings, as they face uncertainty at quarterback for 2025 with J.J. McCarthy and Sam Darnold waiting in the wings. Stabilizing the backfield could ease the transition. For now, Jones and the Vikings focus on winning on the road in Detroit to secure the division crown and NFC’s No. 1 seed.
