Robot Chefs Replace Humans in US Restaurants and Kitchens

HUMANS May Soon Be a Distant Memory in Restaurant Kitchens as Robots Take Over

Companies are developing unique AI-powered robot chefs that can prepare and cook food entirely on their own, with minimal human intervention. These robots can whip up a variety of dishes with the touch of a button, including cooking, seasoning, and serving. One such robot, created by BOTINKIT, can wash up, follow recipes, and perform tasks such as stir-frying, stewing, boiling, frying, and making salads.

The robot features a silver and grey design with a touch-screen interface, where users can select a dish and how they’d like it prepared. With the push of a button, the robot starts preparing the meal, dispensing seasoning and sauces automatically during the cooking process. The company behind BOTINKIT believes that these AI chefs will take a leading role in kitchens very soon, with the goal of reducing labor costs by 30% and food and seasoning waste by 10%.

While the company claims that humans will still be involved in some aspects of the cooking process, such as recipe creation and adding personal touches to the dishes at the final stage, the founders predict that humans will soon only focus on these tasks, with robots taking over most of the cooking responsibilities. In an interview with the South Morning China Post, CEO Chen Rui predicted that within a decade, the restaurant industry will shift towards digital kitchens where robots and intelligent systems play a leading role in operations.
