Rival teams clash in chaotic indoor soccer brawl.

A Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) match between the Milwaukee Wave and Tacoma Stars on Saturday turned into a chaotic scene as a huge brawl broke out between players. The Wave won the match 7-6, with 10 different players scoring goals in the wild matchup. The brawl began after Milwaukee’s Qudus Lawal was pushed over onto the bench by a Tacoma player, sparking the heated incident.

Wave forward Mario Alvarez scored the winning goal, giving the Wave a 7-6 victory. The fight spilled over into the tunnel, with the outcome remaining unclear. The MASL announced suspensions for the players involved in the incident on Tuesday.

Stefan Mijatovic, a Tacoma player, was given a four-game suspension for “in-game and post-game conduct, and for making unprofessional, offensive and abusive language/comments in-game and post-game.” He was also fined, given two penalty points, and required to complete an anger management course.

Additionally, Tacoma players Roman Torres and Luis Birrueta were given a one-game suspension, while Wave players Lawal, Derek Huffman, and Tenzin Rampa were suspended for two games. The league emphasized the importance of players demonstrating professionalism and self-discipline, despite any extenuating circumstances. The Wave are currently in fourth place in the standings, while the Stars are in 10th.
