ROCHESTER, Mass. – Four individuals were apprehended by the Rhode Island State Police on Saturday for allegedly robbing a FedEx courier, according to authorities.
The arrest was made courtesy of a well-executed joint operation by the Rhode Island State Police, Bristol County Sheriff’s Office, and the police departments of Bristol and Warren.
The suspects, ages 17 to 21, were seized without incident in the vicinity of a residence in Warren, Mass. A weapons cache containing a handgun and a crowbar, which is believed to have been used during the commission of the crime, was discovered at the scene.
The suspects are accused of robbing a FedEx delivery driver at gunpoint around 11:45 AM on June 24 in the vicinity of 315 Chase Highway in Warren, Massachusetts. The driver is confirmed to have suffered minor injuries during the incident.
Details regarding the specifics of the robbery are still unclear, but authorities have confirmed that it appeared to be an isolated incident and that there was no evidence to suggest the suspects were working together under a larger organized crime ring.
Detectives from the Rhode Island State Police, along with officers from the various other agencies, executed a search warrant at the location where the suspects were hiding, resulting in the successful apprehension of all four individuals.
