Reddit is Testing AI-Powered Feature to Answer Users’ Queries
Reddit is testing a new feature called Reddit Answers, which uses artificial intelligence to scour the platform for answers to users’ questions. The feature aims to make it easier for users to find relevant information on the site while helping Reddit compete with search engine rivals and AI startups.
Once a question is asked, Reddit Answers will provide curated summaries of relevant conversations and details across the platform, including links to related communities and posts. The feature will initially be available only in English for limited users in the US before expanding to other languages and locations.
The new feature is part of Reddit’s efforts to improve its users’ experience and attract more visitors. In the third quarter ended September 30, the company saw significant growth, with its daily active unique visitors increasing 47% from a year ago to 97.2 million and its global average revenue per user increasing 14% from a year ago to $3.58.
