North Carolina authorities have arrested a 55-year-old real estate agent, David Hansen Lever, in connection with a triple homicide that occurred on January 10. The victims, an 80-year-old man, his 76-year-old wife, and a 64-year-old man, were found with gunshot wounds at four different crime scenes.

As part of the investigation, authorities discovered that the 80-year-old victim’s son, TD Gribble, held Lever, the suspect, at gunpoint, which ultimately led to his arrest. The son described his parents as “faithful and loving” and recalled that the day they were supposed to spend together as a family.

Sheriff Paula Dance credited the Gribble son with possibly preventing further harm, stating that if he had not intervened, Lever may have gone on to harm more individuals. Authorities further found over 50 weapons inside Lever’s home, as well as firearms and ammunition in his van.

Lever, who was a partner at Lever & Russel Real Estate LLC in Greenville, appeared in court on Monday, where he became irate and made derogatory comments directed at the judge. The victims, the Gribbles and their 64-year-old acquaintance, were found with gunshot wounds, but the motive behind their deaths is still unclear.
