It’s a Team Effort, But Turnovers Prove Costly for Ravens
A disheartened Lamar Jackson expressed frustration after the game, placing blame on his own mistakes and the team’s inability to hold onto the ball. He highlighted the importance of protecting the football, citing turnovers and penalties as factors in their 24-19 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Jackson, who accounted for three turnovers, including two interceptions, apologized for using explicit language during his post-game comments.
The Ravens’ quarterback expressed his disappointment, emphasizing that it’s a team effort and that their mistakes ultimately led to their demise. He acknowledged that despite moving the ball effectively, they were unable to capitalize due to turnovers.
In the first half, Jackson overthrew wide receiver Rashod Bateman, resulting in an interception. He later fumbled the ball, which was recovered by Von Miller and returned 39 yards, leading to a Bills touchdown. Additionally, a two-point attempt was denied when a Bills defender knocked down the ball.
Mark Andrews, the team’s tight end, also had a costly fumble in the fourth quarter, which the Bills converted into an eight-point edge.
Despite the emotional toll of the loss, coach John Harbaugh and safety Kyle Hamilton came to Andrews’ defense, praising his character, work ethic, and contributions to the team. Hamilton warned that turnovers can happen to anyone and encouraged others to look inward rather than criticizing their teammates. Harbaugh shared his sentiments, commending Andrews’ heart and dedication to the team.
