Randy Moss Steps Away from ESPN for Health Reasons.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss is taking a break from his duties as a commentator on ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown” to focus on a personal health challenge. The network announced the news on Friday, stating that Moss has been an “invaluable member” of the team for nearly a decade, consistently bringing “insight and passion” to the show.

Moss, 47, opened up about his health struggle last week during an episode of “Sunday NFL Countdown,” revealing that he is battling an illness. He explained that he is wearing glasses, which he jokingly referred to as “Michigan turnover glasses,” due to his health issue, but assures that he “feels great” despite his recent health struggles.

Moss did not disclose what he is specifically dealing with, but his ESPN co-hosts have been showing their support by wearing glasses with him. Moss is expected to return to the show when he is ready, with ESPN’s full support.

A legendary wide receiver who played 14 seasons in the NFL, Moss was a six-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro. He is second in the Minnesota Vikings’ all-time receiving yards with 9,316 yards.
