Raiders DE Maxx Crosby to undergo season-ending surgery

Las Vegas Raiders Defensive End Maxx Crosby to Miss Remainder of Season with Ankle Surgery

Las Vegas Raiders’ star defensive end Maxx Crosby will miss the rest of the season after reportedly deciding to undergo season-ending surgery for his ankle injury. The 27-year-old confirmed the news in an Instagram post, declaring that “as much as this pains me to write… I will not be playing the rest of the season.”

Crosby didn’t practice for three straight days before being officially cleared out for the game Monday night against the Atlanta Falcons. Despite being ruled out, he is determined to undergo the surgery and prioritize his rehabilitation to ensure an eventual return to full fitness, stating “I will get this surgery & be on a war path for greatness everyday and be back the best version of myself”.

Crosby’s expected surgery would mark his fourth absence due to injury after missing a game earlier in the season. Injured quarterback Aidan O’Connell, who suffered from a bruised left knee, has been declared ‘questionable’ to miss the upcoming game. Despite his concerns, Coach Antonio Pierce is optimistic that he will take the field later in the week. For now, Desmond Ridder is the likely starter pending O’Connell’s official clearance.
