Quinn Ewers Eyes NFL Debut Next Season

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers may be considering leaving the program after the 2023 season, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. When asked if he expected to “play college football next year,” Ewers replied, “No, I don’t.” Despite this, it’s unclear if Ewers has officially declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Ewers has had an underwhelming season, throwing for nearly 300 fewer passing yards and five more interceptions than last season. He has 29 touchdowns compared to 22 last season, and has missed some time due to injury. Redshirt freshman Arch Manning has seen more action, mostly as a runner.

Ewers is set to play in the Cotton Bowl Classic on January 20, with the winner facing Notre Dame in the national championship. He has played in 37 collegiate games, and is currently the leader on the Texas Longhorns, who are seeking their first national title since 2006. Despite not having the season he expected, Ewers is still a key player for his team. There is a possibility he may leave to further his NFL prospects, with a $6 million NIL offer reportedly on the table from another school.
