Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, his wife, Kelly, and their two daughters, have been targeted by thieves in a home burglary while they were away from their Los Angeles-area home.
According to reports, the alleged thieves entered the property on Tuesday morning, taking several items, including jewelry and electronics. The burglary was discovered when the Staffords returned to their home later that evening.
The Los Angeles Police Department was called to the scene and is investigating the incident. There have been no arrests made, and no property has been recovered as of yet.
This is not the first time a high-profile athlete has fallen victim to a home burglary. In September, a luxury watch, jewelry, and a pair of shoes were stolen from Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield’s home in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. The burglars used a spare key, which they found hidden outside the property.
In another recent incident, golfer Kevin Na’s Las Vegas estate was broken into, with thieves making off with several valuable items, including a reel of the golfer’s professional golf tour winnings. Na was not home at the time of the burglary, which occurred in December.
The Staffords’ burglary is a sobering reminder that high-profile individuals are not immune to the growing problem of home burglary. Thieves are increasingly targeting wealthy individuals and families, often using social media and other online platforms to research potential targets. Home security cameras and alarms are becoming increasingly important, and property owners are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities immediately.
