Prince William’s former nanny’s stepson identified as New Orleans attack victim.

Prince William and the royal family paid tribute to Edward Pettifer, a 31-year-old British man who was killed in the recent New Orleans terrorist attack on Bourbon Street. Pettifer’s stepmother, Alexandra “Tiggy” Legge-Bourke, was a former nanny to Prince William and Prince Harry in the 1990s.

A statement posted on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram account read: “Catherine and I have been shocked and saddened by the tragic death of Ed Pettifer. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the Pettifer family and all those innocent people who have been tragically impacted by this horrific attack. – W”

The Pettifer family also released a statement, saying they were “devastated” by Ed’s death and “will all miss him terribly.” They requested privacy to grieve their loss.

King Charles was reportedly “deeply saddened” by Pettifer’s death and had been in touch with the family to pass on his personal condolences.

At least 14 people were killed in the attack, and dozens more were injured. The FBI is investigating the incident, which was carried out by a man who allegedly plowed a pickup truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street.
