The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to Montecito in California in summer 2020, just months after stepping down as working royals. Harry, 40, has made several solo trips back to the UK this year, but remains estranged from much of the Firm.

Speaking during The New York Times’ DealBook Summit, Harry said he enjoys living in the US and bringing up his children there. He cited concerns about security as a reason why he wouldn’t be able to do certain activities with his kids if they were living in the UK.

Harry’s focus is now on being the best husband and dad he can be, he said. He also expressed his opposition to a social media ban for children, citing concerns about family arguments and bullying.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex share two children, Prince Archie, five, and three-year-old Lilibet. Harry and Meghan have been rumored to have bought a luxurious property in Alentejo, Portugal, but it seems they have no immediate plans to leave the US.

In other news, Prince Harry and Meghan have sent separate messages to winners of the Diana Award, which was set up in memory of their mother. Harry recorded a video message for the virtual ceremony, praising the winners for their efforts to make positive change in the world.

The royal brothers have a long-running rift, which worsened after Harry’s Netflix documentary and autobiography, Spare, were released. Despite their fractured relationship, the Diana Award said the charity has the support of both Prince William and Prince Harry.
