Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, a horror crossover film, is set to bring together all the blood-soaked villains from films like Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey and Bambi: The Reckoning in 2025. The film is part of the Twisted Childhood Universe, a franchise that takes classic children’s characters and turns them into horror movies.
The film’s producer, Scott Jeffrey, has revealed that the movie will have a bigger budget than any of the standalone films and will feature Easter eggs hinting at the crossover in the individual movies. The film will follow Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit, Owl, Piglet, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Bambi, The Mad Hatter, Peter Pan, and Tinkerbell joining forces to wreak havoc.
Jeffrey also announced that Mary Poppins will be joining the cast, but with a twist. The beloved nanny will be a nightmare in the film, and it’s unclear how she fits into the company’s public domain model. The film’s director, Rhys Frake-Waterfield, has confirmed that the movie will be a horror film that acts as the culmination of the Winnie-the-Pooh horror franchise.
Unlike the Avengers movies, which see the heroes come together to fight evil, Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble will do the opposite, bringing together the twisted versions of the characters to destroy the world. The film will also feature some friction within the group, meaning a few monsters might tussle as well.
The film is set to be released in 2025 and will be distributed by ITN Studios. The cast includes Scott Chamber, Megan Plactio, Roxanne McKee, and Lewis Santer.
