Police Officer Honored with Back the Blue Award

Officer Dalton Ranim of the New York Police Department (NYPD) has been posthumously awarded the “T2T Stephen Siller Back the Blue Award” in recognition of his heroic actions and sacrifices.

Officer Ranim, who was just 30 years old at the time of his death, was shot and killed on February 12, 2022, while responding to a domestic disturbance in the Bronx. He was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

The “T2T Stephen Siller Back the Blue Award” is presented annually to honor the lives of fallen police officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The award is named after Stephen Siller, who lost his life when he rushed to join his fellow officers fighting terrorists at the World Trade Center on 9/11.

The award is presented by the non-profit organization, Tunnel to Towers, which provides support to injured or fallen first responders and their families. The organization’s founder, Frank Siller, is Stephen Siller’s younger brother.

Officer Ranim’s family, including his wife and two young children, were in attendance as the award was presented to them. They expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the organization for the recognition and support, saying that it has brought them comfort during this difficult time.

The “T2T Stephen Siller Back the Blue Award” serves as a reminder of the bravery and selflessness of police officers like Officer Ranim, who put their lives on the line every day to protect and serve their communities. The award is a symbol of the gratitude and appreciation that the public has for these fallen heroes.
