The PGA Tour has announced that the Genesis Invitational will be moved to a different location due to the Los Angeles wildfires that have been ravaging the region. Riviera Country Club, where the tournament is played, was part of the evacuation zone and is located in the Pacific Palisades, one of the areas most affected by the fires.

The tournament was originally scheduled to take place at Riviera Country Club from February 13-16, but the PGA Tour has announced that it will be played at an alternate location the week of February 10-16. The exact location of the tournament has not been revealed yet, but the PGA Tour has promised to provide more information in the coming days.

The decision to move the tournament was made out of respect for the unfolding situation and to prioritize the safety and well-being of those affected by the wildfires. The fires have left more than two dozen people dead and burned over 12,000 structures, with many more people displaced.

Tiger Woods, the host of the tournament, said this week that his focus is currently on helping those affected by the fires, rather than the tournament itself. “We’re trying to just figure everything out and make sure that everyone is safe, and we have meetings scheduled going forward,” he said. “But as of right now, we’re not really focused on the tournament. It’s more about what we can do to help everyone who’s struggling, who’s lost homes and had their lives changed.”
