Patti LuPone reveals Marvel’s desire for WandaVision Season 2 was denied despite creator plans.

WandaVision and Agatha All Along Won’t Have a Second Season

Patti LuPone, the actress who played Lilia Calderu in WandaVision, revealed that showrunner Jac Schaeffer rejected both a second season of WandaVision and a second season of Agatha All Along. According to LuPone, Schaeffer told her, “I don’t do second seasons. They wanted me to do a second season of Wanda Vision and I didn’t.”

LuPone praised Schaeffer, saying that she is “magic” and hopes to work with her again in the future. The news is not surprising, as WandaVision’s plot concluded with Wanda Maximoff’s Westview illusion collapsing, making it unlikely for a second season to follow.

WandaVision presented a unique format that paid homage to TV comedy series from different eras, but its plot did not follow a traditional long-term episodic format. The show’s conclusion made it a standalone title, and it is unclear if WandaVision could be revived in the future.

Agatha All Along, a spiritual sequel to WandaVision, is also not expected to have a second season. The show follows Wanda Maximoff’s reincarnated son and her archnemesis, and its conclusion seems to be a self-contained story.

The news of no second season for WandaVision and Agatha All Along may come as a disappointment to fans, but it is likely that Marvel Studios will continue to explore the characters and storylines in other projects.
