Josh McDaniels’ Packed Coaching Resume Before His Run with the Silver and Black

Josh McDaniels’ impressive coaching background makes him an attractive candidate for the Las Vegas Raiders’ head coaching position. Prior to his stint with the Silver and Black, McDaniels was a highly regarded offensive coordinator for much of the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick era in New England.

McDaniels began his tenure with the Patriots in 2006, overseeing a record-setting offense in 2007. He remained in Boston for three years before taking on the head coaching position with the Denver Broncos, a role he held for two seasons. McDaniels then returned to Foxborough in 2012, where he directed the Brady-led offense for seven consecutive seasons, including three Super Bowl wins.

McDaniels’ top priority in his new role will be developing young quarterback Drake Maye, who had a strong rookie season with 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. With his track record of success working with young quarterbacks, McDaniels has the potential to unlock Maye’s full potential. In fact, he previously coached Mac Jones to his best season in the NFL as a rookie in 2021. With McDaniels at the helm, the future looks bright for the Raiders and their emerging quarterback talent.
