Patrick Mahomes’ promise fulfilled: Chiefs claim number one playoff seeding.

Patrick Mahomes kept his promise to his wife, Brittany, as the Kansas City Chiefs secured the top seed in the playoffs, ensuring that he will be there for her when their third child is born. Brittany is due to give birth soon, and Patrick told her that if the Chiefs got the number one seed, he would be there to support her instead of playing in a potential postseason game.

Patrick shared his promise to his wife, saying, “I told my wife, my pregnant wife, I was gonna get the No. 1 seed so we can go have that baby. We got the one seed.”

Brittany responded to her husband’s comments on her Instagram Stories, writing, “Always keeping his promises.”

The Chiefs’ 29-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday afternoon, put them at 15-1 on the season, with one more game to go. It is likely that the team will rest their starters for the final game of the regular season, giving Patrick Mahomes a chance to be with his wife during the birth of their child.

The Chiefs’ strong season has been marked by injuries and some off-field drama, but they remain on track to make a repeat bid at the Super Bowl, with a chance to make it three consecutive appearances.
