Las Vegas Raiders Defensive Coordinator Graham Returns for 2024 Season
After a brief stint as a candidate for other coaching positions, Graham has decided to remain with the Las Vegas Raiders as defensive coordinator for the 2024 season. The 46-year-old coach had previously interviewed for the head coach and defensive coordinator positions with the Jacksonville Jaguars, as well as the defensive coordinator opening with the Cincinnati Bengals. However, he has chosen to stick with the Raiders, led by head coach Josh Carroll and defensive assistant coach Antonio Pierce.
The Raiders defense had a mixed performance in 2024, finishing 15th in yards allowed but 25th in points. The team was also plagued by major injuries to standout players Maxx Crosby and Christian Wilkins, whose returns should provide a significant boost. Meanwhile, leading tackler Robert Spillane, who has thrived in his two seasons with the Raiders, is set to become a free agent. Perhaps Graham’s return will encourage Spillane to remain with the team.
Despite changes elsewhere, the Raiders can expect continuity at the defensive coordinator position, as Graham will remain at the helm under the Carroll-Spytek regime.
