A Pennsylvania woman, Jennifer Hill, has been arrested on felony forgery, public records tampering, and voter registration-related charges for allegedly trying to fraudulently register dead people to vote in the 2024 election. According to authorities, Hill used an app to register 324 people as a staffer for the New Pennsylvania Project, a voter registration drive. She successfully registered 181 people, but attempted to add 129 names, including her late father, to the voter rolls.
Prosecutors say that Hill also registered a second deceased individual, who had died in her own home in 2011. The person she registered was a portmanteau of her grandmother’s name and a different birthday.
Hill is also accused of attempting to register four individuals who were not eligible to vote, including her father and the deceased person. She faces up to 10 counts of each of the four registrations that led to the indictment.
This is not the only incident of alleged voter fraud in the state. An 84-year-old man, Philip Moss, was also charged with voting both in Florida and by mail in Delaware County.
The New Pennsylvania Project, which Hill worked for, has denied any involvement in the alleged fraud and stated that they do not provide financial incentives or bonuses for additional voter registrations. The group’s executive, Kadida Kenner, said that the allegations are “heartbreaking” and that the group’s voter registration efforts are not directed or aligned with any political party or candidate.
