An Oregon elections office was vandalized in the early hours of Monday, just hours before President Trump’s second inauguration. According to the Portland police, multiple windows and doors were smashed with rocks, and an alarm alerted officers to the incident. The police found graffiti on the building, believed to be the work of 8-10 people.

The vandals targeted the Multnomah County Elections office in southeast Portland, with election workers reporting that windows were smashed on the street side of the building and glass was scattered on the floor and sidewalk.

There is no indication that the vandalism is related to Trump’s inauguration, and no arrests have been made. The incident is still under investigation, and police are urging anyone with information to contact them.

This is not the first political violence incident to occur in Oregon. In 2024, a suspect was caught on surveillance video setting a ballot drop box on fire in Portland, one of several incidents that occurred in Oregon and Washington state. The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
