Ohio State player and TikTok star dismissed before Notre Dame showdown.

Ohio State Knocks Out Texas, But One Buckeye Won’t Be Making the Trip to the National Title Game

Ohio State has looked dominant throughout the 12-team College Football Playoff, following up a quarterfinal win over top-seeded Oregon with a semifinal victory over Texas. But one member of the Buckeyes, Caden Davis, will not be representing the team in the national title game. Davis, a sophomore defensive end, was dismissed from the team, according to Ohio State Sports Information Director Jerry Emig.

While Davis never recorded a tackle during his time with the Buckeyes, he gained a significant following on social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. His online content often featured behind-the-scenes looks at the Ohio State football team and athletic facilities, as well as his daily life as a student on campus.

Davis’ social media bios frequently referenced his status as a member of the Ohio State football team, and he even uploaded photos from last season’s Cotton Bowl game. However, he will not be making the trip to Atlanta for the national title game.

Ohio State last won a national championship in 2014, the inaugural College Football Playoff Championship. They will face off against Notre Dame in the title game on January 20 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
