NYPD searching Central Park in manhunt for UnitedHealthcare CEO’s killer

The New York Police Department (NYPD) has launched a manhunt in Central Park as they search for the killer of Dr. Rod Fergusson, the chief executive officer of UnitedHealthcare, who was found stabbed to death in his home just a few blocks from his office in Manhattan.

The 55-year-old doctor was found unresponsive in his home in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Manhattan on Saturday morning, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner’s office confirmed the cause of death as a stab wound.

The NYPD has released a composite sketch of a suspect, a Hispanic male in his 20s or 30s, and are reviewing security camera footage from the area. They are also canvassing the neighborhood and speaking with residents to gather any information that may lead to the suspect’s capture.

Fergusson, a physician and entrepreneur, had been the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, a leading health insurance company, since 2017. He was a well-known figure in the healthcare industry and had previously worked as a doctor at several hospitals in the city.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
