NYPD links handgun and fingerprints to CEO’s killer.

New York, NY – Authorities in the New York City Police Department (NYPD) have made a significant breakthrough in their investigation into the murder of billionaire CEO David Summers, 52, whose body was discovered in his Manhattan apartment last week. A handgun and fingerprints found at the crime scene have been linked to a suspect in the case, acting on a tip from a confidential source.

The suspect, 35-year-old James Ryan, was arrested by police on Friday and is currently being held at Rikers Island without bail. Ryan, a former business associate of Summers, has been charged with second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and tampering with physical evidence.

According to police, the handgun discovered at the crime scene, a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, was registered to Ryan and the fingerprints on the weapon matched his. Investigators also found a spent shell casing on the floor near Summers’ body, which was also linked to Ryan’s fingerprints.

Police were able to obtain Ryan’s fingerprints after receiving a tip from a confidential source, who claimed that Ryan had boasted about his involvement in the murder on social media. The source, who wishes to remain anonymous, reported that Ryan had mentioned a “$10,000 bug” on his social media account, referring to the alleged motive for the murder.

Police were able to trace the source’s tip to Ryan’s location, leading them to arrest him on Friday. He will be arraigned on Monday and is expected to face a long and difficult road ahead, facing potential charges of second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and tampering with physical evidence.
