North Carolina Authorities Arrest Man in Connection with Murder of 25-Year-Old Woman

A 30-year-old man, Tyrell Jaquez Siermons, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the disappearance and murder of 25-year-old Heather Williams.

Williams was reported missing on January 4, when she was last seen getting into a light-colored, four-door sedan in the area of Berkshire Road in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was found dead on January 10, six days later, in a wooded area near Newark Avenue and State Avenue.

Siermons has a lengthy criminal history in Cumberland County, with prior charges dating back to 2011, including attempted first-degree murder, attempted kidnapping, and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Fayetteville police have not commented on any potential relationship between Siermons and Williams, but said that the vehicle she was last seen getting into on January 4 led them to Siermons.

Williams had a cognitive impairment due to being hit by a car in 2015. Her sister, Mary Williams, told local media outlet WRAL that Heather had met a man online, and that man was the one who drove her away in the car she was last seen getting into.

Siermons is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond. Police are urging anyone with information to contact Detective E. Alrafai at (910) 723-0327 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
