No Question It’s Going to Be Ugly: Bumpy Road Ahead

No question it’s going to be ugly – that’s the sentiment from Sam Kerr as she prepares for a Super League season that promises to be one of the most demanding for the Matildas and other international stars joining the club.

The 28-year-old Australian forward is set to team up with Tribulation’s Ukrainian opponents Alina Dzydochenko and Lucia Wamplem for a Super League season that kicks off on April 4.

Speaking to media on Friday, Kerr didn’t mince words when describing the challenges facing her and other internationals.

“No question it’s going to be ugly,” she said. “You know, we’ve got a lot of talented players joining the league this year and I think everyone’s aware of the gap between the men’s game and the women’s game. But I think that’s where we’re going to make a difference, we’re going to take the game to a new level and make it more interesting and competitive.

“I don’t think the gap is that big, I think it’s attitude, I think it’s desire, I think it’s hunger. I think we can do a lot better than what we’re doing now. And I think the league’s going to be a lot more stronger and a lot more competitive with the players we’ve got coming in.
