Nikki Glaser Kicks Off 2025 Golden Globes with a Sassy Monologue
Comedian and TV host Nikki Glaser began her debut hosting stint at the 2025 Golden Globes with a monologue that poked fun at Diddy, “Dune: Part Two”, and Timothée Chalamet. The ceremony, which was broadcast on Paramount+, was filled with A-list stars and tackled the biggest films and TV shows of the year.
Glaser’s monologue touched on the nominees, including “Wicked”, “The Bear”, and “Baby Reindeer”, and joked about the assumptions made about what people with certain passports, allergies, or hair lengths might do. She also took a swipe at Diddy, accused of rape and sex trafficking, saying, “I’m sorry, I’m upset too. The after-party isn’t going to be as good this year, but we have to move on.”
Glaser praised Zendaya, calling her performance in “Dune” “incredible”, and joking about her other 2024 film “Challengers”, saying, “That movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card!” She also roasted Chalamet, saying, “You have the most gorgeous eyelashes on your upper lip”.
Glaser also touched on the controversy surrounding “Joker 2”, saying, “I’m sorry, ‘Joker 2’. Where is their table? Oh, that’s right, they’re not here.” She also poked fun at the fact that no one from the ill-received film received a single Golden Globe nomination.
Glaser’s monologue was filled with jokes and jabs at various celebrities, including Diddy, Chalamet, and even herself, saying, “I’m hosting the Golden Globes, which feels like I’ve finally made it. You know, I’m in a room full of producers at the Beverly Hilton hotel, and this time all of my clothes are on. It was worth it.”
Throughout the night, Glaser brought up various celebrities, including Zendaya, Nicole Kidman, Adrien Brody, and Glen Powell, and even referenced Selena Gomez’s engagement to music producer Benny Blanco, saying, “He’s here because of the genie who granted him that wish.” At one point, she even took a playful shot at Dwayne Johnson’s Teremana Tequila brand, saying, “Before we start handing out awards, I do want to remind you, if you do lose tonight, please just keep in mind that the point of making art is not to win an award. The point of making art is to start a tequila brand so popular that you never have to make art again.”
