Nick Fuentes, a 26-year-old far-right extremist, has been charged with battery after a confrontation with a woman outside his Illinois home. The incident occurred on November 10, according to documents obtained by The Smoking Gun (TSG) through a public records request.
Marla Rose, a 57-year-old Berwyn resident, was recording a video of Fuentes’ property after seeing an online post of his that declared "Your body my choice" regarding women’s rights. When she rang the doorbell, Fuentes opened the door and allegedly sprayed her in the face with pepper spray and pushed her down the stairs, causing her to fall onto the concrete.
Rose was also pushed to the ground, and Fuentes grabbed her phone and threw it against the concrete floor. A video recorded by Rose shows Fuentes pointing an object at her and telling her to "get the f*** out of here."
Fuentes was booked on a misdemeanor battery charge at the Berwyn police headquarters on November 27 and was released after signing a criminal citation and notice to appear in court on December 19.
In an interview with police, Fuentes claimed that he had posted a political joke online and had been receiving online death threats and unwanted visitors at his home, leaving him in fear for his life. He became uncooperative with the officer and refused to answer any questions about the incident with Rose.
Rose initially refused to press charges, but later opted to do so. She provided police with the iPhone she used to record the incident. The incident has sparked widespread outrage and concern about Fuentes’ hateful rhetoric and actions.
