NFL Upholds Three-Game Suspension for Houston Texans LB Azeez Al-Shaair

The NFL has upheld a three-game suspension for Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair after he received an illegal hit on Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence last weekend. Al-Shaair had appealed the decision.

The hit occurred late in the first half of the game when Lawrence attempted a slide after scrambling from a second-and-7 play. Al-Shaair appeared to raise his forearm and make contact with Lawrence, sparking a chaotic sequence of events on the field.

Lawrence later placed on injured reserve, ending his season. Additionally, Al-Shaair received criticism from teammates of both the Jaguars and Bears after a similar incident with Bears running back Roschon Johnson earlier this season.
