NFL Players with Performance Bonuses to Earn Before the 2024-25 Season Ends
As the 2024-25 NFL season winds down, several players have performance bonuses within reach. These incentives are tied to individual and team achievements, and could lead to significant financial gains for those who perform well in the final two weeks of the regular season and beyond.
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is in the best position to earn a large bonus, with $2 million available if he throws for a career-high in passing yards and maintains a certain completion percentage. Additionally, if the Seahawks win 10 games or secure a playoff spot, Smith will earn an extra $2 million.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield can earn $500,000 if he finishes in the top 10 in the league or top five in the NFC in various passing categories. He’ll also earn $500,000 for each playoff win before the Super Bowl, and $2.5 million if the Buccaneers win the Super Bowl.
Other players with significant bonuses available include:
* Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans, who can earn $666,000 if he finishes in the top 10 in receiving touchdowns
* Chiefs wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who can earn $1 million if he has a big day in the final game of the season
* Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton, who can earn $500,000 if he reaches 1,065 receiving yards
* Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Josh Sweat, Detroit Lions edge rusher Za’Darius Smith, and Buffalo Bills edge rusher Von Miller, who can earn bonuses for reaching certain sack totals
* Los Angeles Chargers running back J.K. Dobbins, who can earn an extra $150,000 if he reaches 1,050 rushing yards
* Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard, who can earn $450,000 more if he finishes the season strong
In addition to these individual bonuses, several players have postseason bonuses available. Eagles running back Saquon Barkley can earn $750,000 if he’s named to the original AFC Pro Bowl roster, and $250,000 more if the Eagles win the NFC title or Super Bowl. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes can earn $1.25 million if he’s named MVP or leads the Chiefs to another AFC title. Bills quarterback Josh Allen can earn $5 million more if he plays at least 60% of the snaps in a potential AFC title win, 50% of the snaps in a possible Super Bowl win, or wins MVP. Lions quarterback Jared Goff can earn an extra $1 million if he plays at least 50% of the snaps in a Super Bowl win this season.
