NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and the league made a last-minute decision to relocate the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings’ playoff game from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California to State Farm Stadium in Arizona due to the wildfires in Southern California. The move was announced on Thursday, giving the teams an extra day to pack up and travel to Arizona.

In an interview with ESPN, Goodell explained that the decision was made to prioritize public safety and not compromise it by playing the game in a area affected by the wildfires. He also praised the Rams fans who made the trip to Arizona, with 45,000 of them attending the game.

The Rams organization also showed its support for the victims of the wildfires by painting the field with Rams colors and the big LA logo in the middle of the field. Additionally, the organization, along with 11 other Los Angeles and Anaheim area teams, announced a combined $8 million donation to support those affected by the wildfires.

The donations will go to support victims, first responders, and organizations such as the American Red Cross, Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, and California Fire Foundation, among others. The Rams fans and the NFL’s efforts to support those affected by the wildfires are a testament to the league’s commitment to the community.
