“The city of New Orleans is facing a possible lawsuit in the wake of the recent terror attack on the city’s French Quarter, according to legal documents obtained by WWLTV.
A lawyer for the plaintiffs, attorneys Ron al Sito and Kenny Blanchard, have announced that they will be filing a lawsuit against the city and the New Orleans Police Department, alleging that authorities failed to provide adequate security measures at the site where the attack occurred.
The lawsuit claims that the attack, which left three people dead and many more injured, was the result of the city’s and police department’s “negligence, gross negligence, or intentional conduct.”
Specifically, the lawsuit alleges that the police department failed to:
* Provide adequate patrols in the area
* Respond promptly to the attack
* Conduct proper searches and secured the area
* Identify potential threats or suspicious behavior
* Ensure the safety of the public
The lawsuit is seeking compensation for damages, including physical and mental distress, medical expenses, and loss of earnings.
The city has yet to comment on the lawsuit, but the police department has issued a statement saying, “The NOPD is still investigating the incident and is cooperating with the FBI and other agencies to identify and charged those responsible.”
The attack, which occurred last weekend, has sent shockwaves through the community and has raised concerns about public safety in the city.
The lawsuit aims to hold the city and police department responsible for the devastating consequences of the attack, and to ensure that similar incidents do not occur in the future.”
