BRUSSELS – NATO has called for a full investigation into the cause of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash in Kazakhstan that killed 38 people. The crash occurred on Wednesday when an Embraer passenger jet crashed near the city of Aktau after diverting from an area of Russia that Moscow has recently defended against Ukrainian drone attacks.
Kazakhstan’s senate chairman has stated that the cause of the crash is still unknown. NATO’s spokesperson, Farah Dakhlallah, expressed condolences to the families and victims of flight J28243, and wished those injured a speedy recovery. The alliance also called for a full investigation into the incident.
