Title: Myles Garrett Discusses the Challenge of Stopping Lamar Jackson

Ad

The Ravens can clinch the division title with a win over the Steelers, while a loss would give the Steelers a chance to retake the AFC North with a win in the later game. Myles Garrett, the 29-year-old pass rusher, is nearing his career-high of 16 sacks, having already notched five and a half against Lamar Jackson in their careers. Garrett believes that these are the hardest sacks he’s recorded, citing Jackson’s unique combination of speed, quickness, and shifty movement.

In his career, Garrett has registered 102.5 sacks, and he notes that Jackson’s ability to escape the pocket and make plays on the run is unlike any other quarterback he has faced. However, Garrett sees Jackson’s growth as a pocket passer as a game-changer, making him an even more formidable opponent for defenses.

When asked if it was possible to take Jackson completely out of the game, Garrett responded, “Hell, no. The man’s amazing.” He acknowledges that it’s not just about containing Jackson in the pocket, but also about limiting his ability to break free and make plays on the run.

The Browns, who defeated Baltimore 29-24 earlier in the season, are set to start Bailey Zappe at quarterback in Week 18. Lamar Jackson threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns in that game, while rushing for 46 yards. Despite the challenges he presents, Garrett is confident in his ability to record another big day against the Baltimore quarterback.
