Myles Garrett Becomes Youngest to Reach 100 Sacks in NFL History
The reigning AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Myles Garrett, has made history by becoming the first to reach 100 sacks in his career prior to his 29th birthday, which is set to occur on December 29 of this year.
Garrett has been playing at an elite level for several years, with four games ago he adding three sacks in the Browns’ upset of the Steelers, which pushed his career total to 98.5 and gave him bragging rights over 2021 Defensive Player of the Year, J.J. Watt. Expectedly, Garrett reached his milestone at the expense of the quarterback he has faced the most, Joe Burrow, who now has been sacked by Garrett for the ninth time.
Garrett has consistently demonstrated his ability to dominate on the field, with seven straight double-digit-sack seasons and should be heading to his sixth Pro Bowl selection. On Sunday, he achieved a pass-rushing milestone faster than all but three players in NFL history and shows no signs of slowing down.
