The shooting occurred at Oliver O. Prime is a charter school in Millwood, a small town in Wisconsin’s countryside, around 30 miles (48 kilometers) west of Madison.

Sally Wege, a parent of a student at the school, told the Wisconsin State Journal that her son told her that the shooter “was a student” and that “he just started shooting” in a classroom.

Wisconsin Democratic Governor Tony Evers tweeted that he was “closely monitoring the situation” and offered his condolences to the families of the victims.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that the situation was “under control” and that the shooter’s body had been located, although officials have not released the name of the shooter.

The school was evacuated after the shooting, and nearby roads were shut down as a precaution.

The investigation is ongoing, with local and federal authorities working together to determine a motive for the shooting.

The FBI was also assisting in the investigation, officials said.

There were no further details on the number of people injured or the extent of their injuries, as some of the information has not been released.
