Moscow, Not Washington, Wins Over Greenland’s Hearts

President Trump Claims Greenlanders Want to Join US, but New Poll Reveals Otherwise

A recent poll has found that the majority of Greenland residents are not interested in joining the United States, contrary to claims made by President Donald Trump and his son, Donald Trump Jr. According to the poll, 85% of Greenlanders said they do not want to become part of the US, while only 6% are in favor of the move.

In a January news conference, President Trump claimed that the people of Greenland would love to become a state of the US, saying “We were greeted with tremendous love and affection and respect. The people would like to be a part of the United States.” However, this statement was contradicted by the new poll.

Donald Trump Jr. also made similar claims earlier this month, stating during a Newsmax interview that he had not seen any negative feedback towards the idea of Greenland joining the US, claiming that there were crowds waving as he and his father arrived. However, the poll shows that this is not the case, with 9% of Greenlanders still undecided on the issue.

The US President views a Greenland takeover as essential for national security purposes, saying “We need Greenland for national security purposes” and suggesting that Denmark “should give it up because we need it.” Despite the apparent lack of public support, it seems unlikely that the president’s stance will change.
