Momma scolds for unfulfilled expectations after Eagles loss

Ravens’ Season Opener Ends in Disappointment

The Baltimore Ravens struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities, losing 12-10 to the Philadelphia Eagles in the season opener on Sunday. Despite outgaining the Eagles 372 to 252 yards, the Ravens failed to put together a consistent performance, with seven of their 10 points coming in the final minute of the game.

Lamar Jackson, who rushed for 79 yards and threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns, was visibly frustrated with the team’s performance. “I’m just ticked off, because we left things out there on that field — me [and] everyone,” he said. “It’s a team sport, and there’s no ‘I’ in team.”

The Ravens scored nine points in the first 12 minutes of the game, but managed only 10 points in the rest of the contest. This season’s second loss in three weeks continues a trend of up-and-down play from the team in 2024. “That was a pretty good team, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like we left stuff out there,” Jackson said. “We should have put more points on the board.”
