Minnesota’s Not About to Forget Kirk Cousins’ Potential
Minnesota seems to agree on Kirk Cousins’ potential to produce, being the franchise he led to two playoff appearances between 2018-2023. Cousins last played with the Vikings, where he was playing some of the best football of his career before an Achilles tear cut his season short. Even though he’s struggled recently, the Vikings won’t forget his previous performances.
“Not only does the narrative read that he had a tough game last week, I think the people in this building know what Kirk can do. He’s a very, very good quarterback,” said Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores. Flores anticipates that Cousins will thrive under pressure, and head coach Todd Bowles agreed, recalling their two earlier meetings where Cousins threw for nearly 800 yards and eight touchdowns.
Cousins himself knows that fans in Minneapolis will make a hostile environment, but the quarterback expects to find a way to overcome adversity, saying, “Have to just believe that tough times don’t last, tough people do. You have to keep pushing.” Leading the Atlanta Falcons against a strong Vikings team, especially in the tight NFC North race, will be the ultimate test of Cousins’ resilience and ability to guide his team to victory.
